Sports Betting Affiliate and Sports Betting Partner Program Comparison

Make money with sports betting without betting yourself? That’s possible with sports betting affiliate programs! You simply refer customers to a bookmaker via text link, email, or banner.

Sports betting affiliate earnings generally fall into two categories:

With the first, you receive a fixed amount per registered user (CPA). This amount is typically between €30 and €100. This amount is paid out for every player you refer who also actively bets.

The second option is the so-called Revenue Share model, which pays you a percentage of the profits. Here, for example, you receive 25%-45% of what the bookmaker earns from the customers you referred. If the revenue share is, for example, 30% and your customers lose €900 in a month, then you receive €300.

Membership in a bookmaker’s partner program / affiliate program is completely free. If your earnings are negative, your affiliate account is reset to 0 on the 1st of the following month (unless the bookmaker has negative carryover). So you can only win.

An account is negative when you’ve chosen the Revenue Share model and the players you referred win more than they lose.

Which is better – Revenue Share or CPA?

Sites with good traffic should go for the Revenue Share model. Here you earn from your referred customers for a lifetime.

The CPA model is suitable for sites that don’t yet have a lot of visitors. For smaller bookmakers, it’s also advisable to choose the CPA model. The reason is that these bookmakers don’t have many visitors, and players are usually no longer active once they’ve played through a bonus.

What is “Negative Carryover”?

Some sports betting affiliate programs have what’s known as Negative Carryover! This means that profits made by referred players (which put your account into negative territory) are carried over to the following month. You naturally don’t owe the affiliate program any money, but you only start earning once the account is back in positive territory at the end of a month.

CPA = Cost per Action (one-time commission payout)
Revenue Share / RS = proportional profit distribution from a company (applies for a lifetime)
Subaffiliate = sub-partner
Negative Carryover = carrying over negative earnings to the following month
