How do I prevent a personal betting limit?
Every bookmaker has a risk management system, whether through staff or an automated risk management tool, that monitors a bettor’s wagering behavior. Especially with new customers, attention is paid to what they bet on. Bettors who, especially at the beginning, bet on niche sports or anything that isn’t a mainstream event, quickly receive a personal stake limit. Of course, this also applies to those on a winning streak. This is especially the case with smaller bookmakers.
We personally have never received a betting limit in 10 years. Why? Because we follow this strategy:
- Play the profile of a gambler: sometimes bet with a small stake and then with a large stake. Occasionally lose a bet on purpose – with a 0-0 bet, for example. Play other products like casino. But be careful, the latter is forbidden at almost all bookmakers if you’re using a sports betting bonus.
- Spread your stakes across multiple bookmakers. With Windows 10, it’s possible to place 2 (or more) browser windows side by side and on top of each other. Simply press Ctrl + N and then drag both windows to the desired position until the window automatically docks. Now you can log in to the respective sports bookmaker in the different windows and place your bet with 2 or more different bookmakers there. And you even keep an eye on the odds movements, which isn’t bad for live betting.
- Always bet on mainstream events as much as possible and skip small leagues / tournaments. Anyone who bets on ATP Challenger tournaments and Polish ice hockey leagues shouldn’t be surprised if they quickly receive a betting limit. Large bookmakers like William Hill tolerate this for a while, smaller bookmakers less so. The smaller the league, the greater the probability of insider knowledge and manipulation of players. That’s why bookmakers react quickly when a person bets on everything outside the mainstream.
- Don’t bet on obvious odds errors. If a bookmaker offers significantly higher odds than all other providers, it may look like free money at first, but you can assume the bet will be cancelled and you’ll receive a betting limit afterward. So you’d be punished twice.
- Valuebets and surebets should be avoided, though in practice this is almost impossible for the average bettor, especially with valuebets.
- Be aware that if you’re a new customer at a bookmaker using a purchased sports betting platform (Betconstruct, Digitain, Bet2Bet, Sb-Tech), you may receive a personal limit at another provider using the same platform. Since many bookmakers leave risk management to the platform’s software provider, there is of course an exchange between the bookmakers. Therefore, it’s also not advisable to bet on the same event at, for example, Betrally and Comeon.com (both Sb-Tech).
