About Us: The Team Behind Wett-Bonus.net
Wett-Bonus.net has compared sports betting providers and their bonus offers since 2007. The tests are written in German. For the English, Spanish, French and Russian editions, our authors carry them over into their own language and prepare them for local readers.
The Authors
Tanya Schubert
Founder and author – German
Tanya Schubert has worked intensively on sports betting for many years and has run the platform wett-bonus.net since 2007. She writes the German content herself and puts a strong focus on transparent, honest reviews.
She came to sports betting almost by accident: in an episode of TV Total she saw an ad for a free bet at Betandwin, tried the offer and stayed curious. Over the following years she tested numerous bookmakers, compared bonus offers and gathered her own experience. The wish to give other users some orientation eventually became her website.
Today she presents only reputable, trustworthy bookmakers. Visitors should get a clear basis for their decision: no marketing phrases, but real tests and long experience.
Claire Whitmore
Author – English
Claire Whitmore has worked for Wett-Bonus.net since 2026 and looks after the English edition. She translates the German bookmaker tests and betting guides and prepares the content for English-speaking readers.
Her focus is fact-checking: details on bookmakers, bonus terms and wagering requirements have to be carried over correctly. Her work is based on the original tests and ratings by Tanya Schubert.
Lucía Ferrer
Author – Spanish
Lucía Ferrer has been on the Wett-Bonus.net team since 2026 and is responsible for the Spanish edition. She translates the German test reports and adapts the language so that Spanish-speaking readers can follow the ratings and comparisons.
Her focus is betting bonuses and their terms. She makes sure that wagering requirements, minimum odds and possible restrictions are explained clearly. The technical basis is the bookmaker tests by Tanya Schubert.
Julien Marchand
Author – French
Julien Marchand joined Wett-Bonus.net in 2026 and looks after the French edition. He translates the German bookmaker tests and prepares the results for French-speaking readers.
His focus is bookmaker comparisons and checking gambling licences: which authority licensed a bookmaker, whether the licence is currently valid and which markets it covers. Betting odds, payment methods and how easy the platforms are to use also feed into his work. The original bookmaker tests come from Tanya Schubert.
Елена Маркова
Author – Russian
Elena Markova has been with Wett-Bonus.net since 2026 and looks after the Russian edition. She translates the German bookmaker tests, bonus comparisons and guides and prepares the content for Russian-speaking readers.
Her focus is player protection. She makes sure that information on deposit limits, self-exclusion and the risks of sports betting is easy to understand. The original tests and bookmaker ratings come from Tanya Schubert.
How We Test
What we check at every bookmaker
We start with what can be verified: who is behind the bookmaker, which authority issued the licence, how the bonus terms are put together and how the odds margin compares with the competition. Add to that payment methods with their limits, support, and how tedious verification turns out to be. For test withdrawals we give the date and time of the request and of the money arriving, so anyone can work out the waiting time themselves.
Real money, bigger amounts, real risk
We test with our own money, and not with the minimum. Depending on the sports betting site, mid three-digit to low four-digit amounts end up in the account, spread over several deposits, plenty of bets and several withdrawals. We accept that we may lose money along the way. Anyone who deposits only the minimum, places one bet at odds of 1.01 and cashes out learns very little about a bookmaker, because with many betting sites the trouble only starts with larger sums.
No reliable payout, no listing on Wett-Bonus.net
In the end, what counts is whether the money arrives. In one test we requested a withdrawal of €2,000 and never saw a cent of it. That betting site failed our test and is not recommended. The same goes for verification that drags on forever and for limits that leave hardly any room. Whether a bookmaker gets listed is decided by the test result; commission plays no part.
Few new sports betting sites pass our check
We take on new bookmakers only in limited numbers. Each one gets an overall score in percent, and below 75 % the quality check counts as failed. Such bookmakers appear neither in the rankings nor in our recommendations, only under Bookmaker Clones.
The authors of the other language editions take these details from the German test and cross-check bonus terms and figures before publication.
How Wett-Bonus.net Is Funded
The links to bookmakers are affiliate links. If someone signs up through one of them, Wett-Bonus.net may receive a commission. This causes no additional costs for users.
